"How long do eyelash extensions last?"
With the correct aftercare, your lash extensions can last between 4-6 weeks. They will naturally shed during your lash cycle and for that reason we suggest coming in for infills when your eyelashes begin to shed. Natural shedding cannot be avoided but there is a lot you can do to keep your lashes looking their best for as long as possible. After your appointment you will be sent an email outlining aftercare steps and we have kits available to purchase in the salon (including lash shampoo).
"Why do I need lash shampoo?"
Washing your eyelash extensions with the correct product is essential. Not only will buildup of makeup and dirt cause your lashes to fall faster, but bacteria can also lead to eye infections and worse. Cleaning them twice a week promotes healthy natural lashes and extensions. Your lashes are an investment and deserve TLC. You can buy lash shampoo in the salon or we will be happy to provide you with recommendations.
"Why can't I wear makeup to my appointment?"
In order to provide you with the best lashing experience, you need to be make-up free. This includes foundation and concealer. The oil in these products interferes with the adhesive and makes your eyelashes difficult to work with. If you arrive with makeup (or any face creams etc) on we will need to remove them which eats into valuable lashing time. A lash bath takes 15 minutes which is generally 1/4-1/3 of your appointment time. We can't guarantee that we will be able to provide you with the fullest set possible if we are running short of time.
"Why can't I drink caffeine before my appointment!?"
Caffeine causes the eye to involuntarily flutter. Again, making your lashes difficult to work with. In order to ensure the smoothest application please do not drink caffeine for at least two hours before your appointment.
"Does it hurt?"
Never! When properly applied an eyelash extension session should never hurt as the lashes are applied to your natural lashes and not your eyelid. Lash extensions only ever hurt due to poor technique and low quality products - neither of which are an issue at Angelic Beauty!
""Do you infill others work?"
Yes! We do but please send us over images to confirm whether we can infill or remove and do a new set. We understand that you may not always be able to get in with your regular or local tech so we are often happy to infill other high quality work.

With correct aftercare, BIAB (Builder In A Bottle) nails typically last 3–6 weeks. Growth and natural wear will occur over time, so we recommend a refill or maintenance appointment around 3–4 weeks to keep strength and shape. Avoid using your nails as tools and moisturise cuticles regularly to prolong the life of your BIAB.

Nail extensions’ durability varies by type and lifestyle; expect 3–6 weeks before a refill or replacement. Natural nail growth will create a gap at the cuticle, so regular infills are recommended to maintain the look and structural integrity.
How long do Gel-X nail extensions last?
Gel-X extensions typically last 2–4 weeks before a refill is needed. They are lightweight and flexible, but natural nail growth and wear require maintenance to keep the shape and prevent lifting. We recommend returning for an infill around 2–3 weeks depending on growth.
How long do dual form extensions last?
Dual form extensions (dual-form gel or acrylic) usually last 2–4 weeks, depending on natural growth and wear. Infills are recommended every 2–3 weeks to maintain the seamless look and strength of the extension.
What aftercare should I follow for nails?
Keep nails dry for the first few hours after application.
Apply cuticle oil daily to maintain flexibility and prevent lifting.
Avoid using nails as tools to open or pry things.
Wear gloves for cleaning, gardening or prolonged water exposure.
Use a gentle, non-acetone polish remover for natural polish changes.
Book regular infills/maintenance to prevent lifting and damage.
Can I repair a lifted or broken nail?
Yes. Small chips or lifting can usually be repaired during a maintenance appointment. For severe breaks or infection, remove the extension and treat the natural nail before reapplying. Contact us to book a repair so we can assess and fix the issue promptly.
Will nail extensions damage my natural nails?
When applied and removed correctly by a trained technician, BIAB, gel, Gel-X and dual form systems can be low-damage and even strengthen thin nails. Damage is more likely from improper removal, picking at nails, or skipping professional infills. We always advise professional removal and regular aftercare.
How should I remove extensions or gel at home?
We strongly recommend professional removal to avoid damage. If removal at home is unavoidable, avoid peeling or forcing extensions off. Use appropriate soak-off products and follow safe instructions, but the safest option is to book a removal appointment with us.
Can I switch between nail systems (BIAB, gel, Gel-X, dual form)?
Yes. You can switch between systems, many clients change depending on desired durability, shape, or design. Your technician will assess the natural nail condition and recommend the best option for switching safely.
What should I do if I have an allergic reaction or irritation?
If you experience redness, severe itching, swelling or pain, remove the enhancement and seek medical advice if symptoms persist. Contact the salon to inform us; we’ll advise on next steps and may recommend you see a GP or dermatologist.
